Why do I need a referral?

Certain insurances require a referral to see specialists.  With a referral, we receive your medical history (results of bloodwork, images and physician notes), which is essential in your first consultation.

It’s important to understand that – especially in rheumatology - a positive test does NOT equal a diagnosis. Depending on your specific situation, you may not have the disease, and the consequences for a misdiagnosis can be severe.

Do you take my insurance?

We proudly participate with Aetna, Cigna, Health Choice Life, Medicare-WA, Premera Blue Cross, and Regence Blue Shield. There are different plans within each of these insurance programs. We advise that you contact your insurance company to confirm that we are in your network.

What if I’m not good using computers?

As a private solo practice, RheumCenter is much more reliant on the Patient Portal than larger clinics or hospitals. You must be able to use the portal to ensure the best care.  If this is a problem, we respectfully insist you find another rheumatologist.
